Thai company unveils electric tour boat

Thai technology company Banpu Next has unveiled a new tour boat that will be powered entirely by electricity.

The boat has a length of 8.36 metres, a beam of 3.6 metres, and a cruising speed of between seven and 12 knots. Charging of the batteries can be completed within two hours and a single full charge will allow the vessel to sail for up to 55 kilometres.

Banpu Next said the vessel can be configured to operate as a small ferry or as a hotel/resort guest shuttle.
