New dive boat for São Tomé and Principe undergoes sea trials

Isle of Wight boatbuilder Cheetah Marine recently conducted sea trials of a new dive catamaran for Club Santana Beach and Resort on the African island country of São Tomé and Principe.

Named Maya, the vessel has a length of 11.2 metres, a width of 3.7 metres, a deck space of 25 square metres, capacity for 20 passengers/divers, and twin Yamaha 186kW outboards delivering a cruising speed of 21 knots and a top speed of 41 knots.

Maya was constructed in Cheetah Marine’s recently established boatbuilding facilities in Portugal while its sea trials were conducted on the country’s west coast.
