Maid of the Mist welcomes new ferries into service

New York tour operator Maid of the Mist has begun full operational sailings of its two newest zero-emission vessels.

The catamaran ferries Nikola Tesla and James V. Glynn are each powered by a pair of battery packs providing 316 kWh total capacity. The batteries allow the electric propulsion motors to reach an output of up to 400 kW.

Charging at shore stations can be completed in as little as seven minutes.
