Maid of the Mist to introduce all-electric boats in September

Niagara Falls tour boat operator Maid of the Mist is preparing to launch two new passenger catamarans into service by September of this year.

The boats will be the first two all-electric, zero-emission passenger vessels to be constructed in the United States.

Designed by Propulsion Data Services, the vessels are currently under construction at Burger Boat Company’s facilities in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

The boats will replace Maid of the Mist VI and Maid of the Mist VII, which entered service in 1990 and 1997, respectively.
