Filipino tour boat company Sun Cruises ceases operations

Filipino tour boat company Sun Cruises has ceased its operations, its management confirmed on its official Facebook page on Tuesday, June 9.

The company’s closure, which took effect on May 16, came as a result of dwindling passenger numbers following the Philippine government’s imposition of travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Established in 1988, Sun Cruises had ferried tourists between Manila and Corregidor Island, a former defensive fortification and currently a popular heritage site located at the entrance of Manila Bay.
