Construction begins on all-electric tour boat for China’s Pearl River

Jianglong Shipbuilding has begun construction on a new all-electric sightseeing vessel for operation in the Pearl River off the city of Guangzhou.

The all-steel catamaran will have an LOA of 39.32 metres, a beam of 11.5 metres, and seating for up to 130 passengers. Lithium batteries will provide power for a set of azimuthing propellers to enable them to deliver a speed of 10 knots.

Onboard facilities will include view decks and conference rooms.

The vessel will be operated by Guangzhou Public Transport Group.
