Four Ro-Ro vessel orders for FSG

Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) has entered into two shipbuilding contracts for a total of four new Ro-Ro vessels.

The first two vessels expected to be delivered are to be chartered out to shipping and transport company, DFDS, by the Siem Group. The 209.6-metre long vessels will provide a capacity of 4,076 lane metres for up to 262 trailers of 14-metre length. They will be delivered in May and September 2017 respectively.

The second contract is for a subsidiary of the Siem Group for the construction of two Ro-Ro vessels. The 209.79-metre long vessels have a cargo capacity of 4,100 lane metre.

The vessels will be operated by Alternative Tasimacilik, the shipping arm of Ekol Logistik from Istanbul, Turkey, under a bareboat charter deal with purchase obligation.

The vessels will be named 'Meleq' and 'Fadiq' and will be delivered in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
