Xiamen Bay Sea Passenger takes delivery of high-speed ferry

Xiamen Bay Sea Passenger Company has taken delivery of He Ping Xin Xing, a new high-speed catamaran ferry built by Plenty Shipbuilding Industry of Zhuhai.

Designed by Netherlands-based CoCo Yachts, the newbuild has an LOA of 44.8 metres, a beam of 11 metres, a depth of 3.4 metres, and a crew of 11. Power is provided by two MTU 16V2000 M72 engines which delivered a speed of 30.5 knots during trials.

Passenger accommodations include 257 economy class seats on the main deck, 76 business class seats, and 10 VIP seats. The upper deck business class/VIP area also has a service counter and two toilets.

He Ping Xin Xing will operate between Xiamen and the Taiwanese city of Kinmen.
