The Argyll and Bute Council in Scotland has confirmed that a new passenger ferry will enter service Port Appin and Lismore Island early next year.

Designed by Keel Marine and built by Mainstay Marine Solutions of Pembroke Dock in Wales, the 12-metre, 23-passenger Lady of Lismore has completed undergoing final sea trials and will sail on its 302-nautical-mile delivery voyage to its new owners on Monday, December 13. The vessel’s expected arrival will be at the end of the month.

The all-steel Lady of Lismore will replace an older ferry that has been serving the Argylle and Bute communities for over three decades.
