Russian builder to market hydrofoil ferries, other vessels to Asia-Pacific customers

Russia’s Vympel Shipbuilding is set to promote its commercial vessel product portfolio to customers throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

One of the first phases under this initiative is the planned supply of the company’s Kometa 120M series of hydrofoil ferries to India.

Negotiations for the supply of the hydrofoil ferries to India are underway, Vympel general director Yevgeny Norenko told local media in a recent press briefing. However, no timetable has yet been given due in part to scheduling issues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
