Rita Joe joins Halifax Transit ferry fleet

Canadian ferry operator Halifax Transit has officially welcomed Rita Joe as its newest vessel in its fleet of Halifax Harbour ferries.

The vessel is named after the late Rita Joe, a celebrated Mi’kmaq First Nation author, poet, and songwriter from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

Rita Joe is the fifth new addition to the Halifax Transit ferry fleet, marking the final replacement vessel in the company’s multi-year ferry replacement programme.
