Norled secures 12-year concession for high-speed ferry services

Norwegian ferry operator Norled has been awarded a concession to provide high-speed passenger vessel services for the municipalities of Kinn, Bremanger, Stad, Vik, Hoyanger, Sogndal, and Laerdal for a firm period of 12 years plus an option to extend by another two years.

The concession also stipulates that the ferries must achieve CO2 emissions reductions of at least 52 per cent when operating on the selected routes.

Commencement of ferry services is scheduled to begin no later than May 1, 2024 with the possibility of an earlier start on November 1, 2023.
