Norway’s Nordland county municipality (Nordland Fylkeskommune) has ordered two high-speed ferries from Norwegian shipbuilder Brødrene Aa.
The 42-metre-long “Nex” high-speed carbon ferries, which will be built at the Hyen shipyard, will be used at Svolvær and Sandnessjøen.
The carbon-fibre vessels will carry up to 220 passengers and reach a top speed of 32 knots.
They are scheduled for a December 2018 delivery.
