Nichols Brothers Boat Builders awarded contract for high-speed ferry pair
Kitsap Transit of Washington State has awarded Nichols Brothers Boat Builders a contract to deliver two new passenger catamarans with an option for a third vessel.
Designed by BMT Nigel Gee, each ferry will have a length of 42.67 metres, a width of 11.27 metres, and a passenger capacity of 250. Two MTU 16V4000M65L 1,250kW main engines will deliver a speed of 37 knots.
Delivery is scheduled for 2020.
