Newbuild joins Fortune Ferry’s Hong Kong fleet

China’s Jianglong Shipbuilding recently delivered a new passenger vessel to Hong Kong-based Chu Kong Shipping Group (CKS).

The all-steel Fuqiang (“Prosperous”) has an LOA of 34.7 metres, a beam of 8.6 metres, and seating for up to 365 passengers on two decks. Two main engines will propel the vessel to a speed of 12 knots.

In addition to being used as a ferry serving regular point-to-point routes, the vessel will also sail on sightseeing trips in the waters of the Dawan District, the greater bay area between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau.

Fuqiang will be operated alongside sister vessel Fuxing under the Fortune Ferry Company brand of CKS.
