Thai builder SeaCat Ships has launched a new aluminium catamaran ferry capable of transporting 150 passengers.

Named Kalibobo Express, the 22-metre vessel was designed in accordance to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s NSCV Class 1B requirements. It will be powered by two 484kW engines that will deliver cruising speeds of between 22 and 25 knots and a maximum speed of 27 knots.

SeaCat said the vessel will be suitable for offshore services and will be able to run smoothly in rough conditions, thanks to the deep vee hulls and aero foil mini keels that will ensure improved tracking in following seas.
