New catamaran fast ferry to operate on Monaco-Ventimiglia route

French builder Advanced Aerodynamic Vessels will soon deliver a new high-speed catamaran shuttle ferry for operation between Monaco and the Italian city of Ventimiglia.

Named Monaco One, the vessel has a length of 10 metres, seating for up to 12 passengers, and two 260kW engines. Recently completed sea trials have shown that the ferry can achieve speeds of up to 50 knots with the aid of its aerofoil-shaped hull form.

The ferry is expected to complete the Monaco-Ventimiglia 12-kilometre one-way route in as little as 10 minutes.
