US-based Miller Boat Line has awarded Elliott Bay Design Group a design contract for a new passenger/vehicle ferry.

The 42.6-metre-long ferry will be added to Miller Boat Line’s fleet servicing the Lake Erie Islands.

With a carrying capacity of 26 standard vehicles and up to 600 passengers, the vessel will be ADA accessible and feature Tier 3 propulsion technology.

EBDG chief engineer Brian King said special attention was given to improve the loading and discharge times of vehicles and passengers.
