First steel cut for new fast ferry for Zhoushan City, China

Jianglong Shipbuilding has cut the first steel for a new high-speed commuter ferry that will serve the city of Zhoushan, China.

The steel-aluminium catamaran vessel will have an LOA of 40.35 metres, a beam of 10.38 metres, capacity for 288 passengers, and a maximum speed in excess of 23 knots.

The vessel is being built for local operator Zhoushan Putuo District Trading Group.
