Electric catamaran delivered to Wellington ferry company

East by West Ferries of Wellington, New Zealand, recently took delivery of a new locally-built, fully electric catamaran vessel.

Measuring 19 metres long and with capacity for 135 passengers, Ika Rere was built by Wellington Electric Boat Building Company (WEBBCo) for operation within the Greater Wellington area.

East by West said it is now working towards gaining a survey certificate for Ika Rere within the coming weeks. The ferry will commence public sailings shortly afterwards.
