Italian shipyard Fincantieri has completed extension and modernisation works on Star Pride, a vessel operated by Seattle-based Windstar Cruises.

The ship is the third in the Windstar fleet to undergo a modernisation program as part of a US$250 million contract.

The works on Star Pride encompassed the installation of a new 83-foot (25.6-metre) mid-body section, upgrades of the engines and the diesel generators to reduce their environmental impact, and extensive modernisation of public areas, passenger cabins, and open decks.
