Ulstein secures Lindblad ship design contract

Ulstein Design and Solutions has been awarded a contract to design a new cruise ship for Lindblad Expeditions.

The vessel’s most notable feature will be its unique X-bow design, which Ulstein claims will be able to split waves and reduce slamming and vibrations as well as ensure increased space in the upper bow for observation lounges and other leisure areas.

The vessel will also be equipped with redundant systems and critical machinery to enable safe return to port after an incident like flooding or fire.
