Swedish firm acquires Italian cruise ship designer

The Viken Group, a newly established mother company of cruise ship design specialists Tillberg Design of Sweden (TDoS), has acquired Italian design and naval architecture firm Thalia Marine.

Both TDoS and Thalia Marine will continue operating independently of one another but will jointly collaborate under the Viken Group umbrella on relevant projects in the cruise line and yachting segments.

The two companies have collaborated on multiple projects in the past. In those projects, Thalia provided comprehensive technical management services, specialist design consultancy, surveys, and on-site inspections and TDoS handled design and space planning as well as financial management and administration support.
