Knud E. Hansen unveils design of new expedition ship

Knud E. Hansen has unveiled the first images of a new expedition cruise ship.

Phoenix World Village will have an LOA of 150.8 metres, a beam of 30 metres, a design draught of 5.5 metres, accommodations for up to 400 passengers, diesel-electric propulsion, a service speed of 16 knots, and a range of approximately 6,500 nautical miles.

Onboard facilities will also include a medical station and an HVAC system developed by maritime health care specialist Vikand to disinfect interior air and surfaces. Public spaces will include restaurants, a pool, a jogging area, bars, a cafe, a library, a fitness area, and a sun deck.

There will also be a large tender garage for storing rubber boats and other expedition equipment.
