Keel laid for Saga Cruises’ new river ship for Danube sailings

A keel-laying ceremony was recently held in Vahali Shipyards in Serbia to mark the start of construction of a new river cruise ship ordered by Saga Cruises.

Slated for operation on the Danube River as its name implies, Spirit of the Danube will have capacity for 190 guests and amenities that will include a lounge, a library, a bar, and two restaurants.

The vessel is scheduled to be delivered in 2022. Its inaugural cruise will sail out of Amsterdam while future itineraries will include Budapest, Vienna, Rousse, and Tulcea.
