First steel cut for new ship for MSC Cruises’ Explora Journeys brand

Fincantieri held a steel-cutting ceremony to mark the start of construction of a new luxury cruise ship on Friday, June 11.

The future Explora I will be the first of four ships to be built by Fincantieri for Explora Journeys, a recently launched luxury cruise brand under MSC Group. Delivery is scheduled for 2023.

Explora I and its three sisters are being built under a €2 billion (US$2.42 billion) order.
