Finnish shipbuilder Meyer Turku floated out a new cruise ship into the water on Friday, January 15.

Ordered by Costa Cruises, the 337-metre Costa Toscana will be powered by LNG and will feature special desalinisation plants that will process seawater directly to meet daily water supply requirements. Energy consumption is expected to be reduced to a minimum thanks to an intelligent energy efficiency system.

Facilities will include a three-deck entertainment area, four swimming pools including one indoor pool, and more than 2,600 cabins.

Costa Toscana is scheduled to enter service in December 2021. It will make its debut in Brazil in the 2021-2022 cruise season beginning with a week-long New Year’s cruise that will depart Santos on December 26.
