Delivery postponed for Havila Voyages’ first two ships

Havila Voyages has confirmed that the first two ships in its fleet, Havila Castor and Havila Capella, have been delayed and will instead be setting sail in the summer of 2021.

The ships were due to commence operations early this year but are now expected to be delivered by Tersan Shipyard in Turkey at the end of May or early June. Havila said it will then take several weeks to prepare them for operation.

Havila Voyages CEO Arild Myrvoll said the Covid-19 pandemic has caused the delayed delivery of some fixtures and fittings and also led to fewer workers being able to work on-site at Tersan’s facilities.
