Antarctica21’s Magellan Explorer launched

Chilean shipbuilder Asenav launched a new expedition cruise ship for local operator Antarctica21 on Thursday, February 28.

Named Magellan Explorer, the vessel will have a length of 90.7 metres, a width of 16.2 metres, a draught of 4.3 metres, and capacity for up to 100 passengers once completed.

Two MAN 1,720kW main engines will deliver a cruising speed of 14 knots.

Magellan Explorer is scheduled to sail on its first operational cruise in November of this year.
