German shipbuilder Meyer Werft has floated out a new vessel slated to enter service with local operator AIDA Cruises later this year.

AIDA Cruises said that AIDAcosma now has all its cabins and propellers installed while the engine room and the LNG fuel tanks were recently completed at Neptun Werft’s facilities and will be shipped to Meyer Werft for installation.

Further outfitting will be undertaken and completed in time for the vessel’s scheduled entry into service in December 2021.

Once in service, AIDAcosma will sail seven-day cruises around Spain’s Canary Islands. From April 13, 2022, the ship will set off on a transfer voyage to the Mediterranean, where it will sail on seven-day cruises from Mallorca or Barcelona.
