Damen cuts steel for Windermere Lake Cruises ship

Damen Shipyards Group has cut the first steel for a 34-metre-long day cruise vessel for Windermere Lake Cruises located in England’s Lake District National Park.

The vessel will be named Swift and will be fitted with diesel-electric propulsion. It will also have accommodations for 300 passengers as well as wheelchair-accessible decks.

The vessel is designed to have minimal impact on Lake District, a protected area and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
