Austal begins construction of trimaran ferry for Japanese operator

Austal has commenced construction of an 83-metre trimaran ferry for JR Kyushu of Japan at its shipyard in Western Australia.
Named Queen Beetle, the ferry will have a capacity for 502 passengers and an operational speed of 37 knots.
Queen Beetle will service JR Kyushu Jet Ferry’s route between Fukuoka, Japan, and Busan, South Korea.
