Dae Sun shipbuilding launches Silver Cloud for Hanil Express

South Korea’s Dae Sun Shipbuilding and Engineering has launched the 19,000GT Ro-Pax ferry Silver Cloud in the port of Busan.

Designed to carry 1,200 passengers and 150 vehicles, Silver Cloud is scheduled to be delivered to Hanil Express Co in October.

The 160-metre ferry will operate between South Korea and Jeju island.

The industry ministry invested KRW5 billion (US$5 million) to ensure the new ship – the first car ferry built locally – is safe to operate as a passenger vessel.
