New Clipper ferry to enter service on March 9

Clipper Vacations’ high-speed fast ferry, Victoria Clipper V, will begin service between Seattle and Victoria, British Columbia on March 9.

The 52-metre catamaran carries 440 passengers and can travel at speeds up to 36 knots.

Before arriving in the Pacific Northwest, Victoria Clipper V operated in the North Sea between Hamburg and Heligoland, Germany as part of the fleet owned by Clipper’s parent company Förde Reederei Seetouristik (FRS).

The vessel was placed on a heavy-lift carrier and transferred on a 17,000-kilometre journey from Germany to its new home in December before being transferred into dry dock for interior modifications.
