Early completion to give Celebrity Edge November debut

Celebrity Cruises says its latest newbuild, Celebrity Edge, will be completed ahead of schedule and enter service earlier than planned.

Celebrity Edge was scheduled for delivery from French yard STX France in the third quarter of 2018 and sail her first inaugural cruise in mid-December.

The vessel will now depart on her first preview sailing on November 21, and complete another three voyages before her official maiden voyage.

The 2,918-guest Celebrity Edge will feature suites and staterooms created by designer Kelly Hoppen, a Rooftop Garden developed by architect Tom Wright, and the Magic Carpet – a ship-climbing platform that can be positioned at four levels.
