Fjord1 wins contract to operate four Norwegian ferry routes

Fjord 1 has been awarded a contract from the Norwegian municipality of Møre and Romsdal to operate four ferry connections.

The municipality said Fjord 1 had won the contract for the Edøya to Sandvika, Arasvika to Hennset, Seivika to Tømmervåg and Kvanne to Rykkjem services due to its environmental credentials and price.

The NOK1,884 million (US$233.5 million) contract, which stipulates the need for a major reduction in carbon dioxide reductions and additional weekend services for the Seivika-Tømmervåg service, will begin on January 1, 2020.
