Work Boat World Offshore Vessel Charters Roundup – May 11, 2022

New charters have been awarded for crewboats and installation vessels supporting the offshore wind sector and for IMR and survey vessels for customers in oil and gas. Works are due to be carried out in the North Sea, the Far East, Africa, and the United States.

Solstad Offshore secures multiple PSV and AHTS contracts

Solstad Offshore has been awarded contracts for the platform supply vessels (PSVs) Normand Tantalus, Normand Serenade, Normand Springer, and Normand Arctic. The contracts have a combined firm duration of ca 500 days, with additional options thereafter.

The PSV contracts will commence during the second and third quarters of 2022 and are concluded with key operators in both the UK and Norway.

Solstad has also secured contracts for some of its anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS) currently trading in the North Sea spot market. The contracts have a combined firm utilisation of 350 days, with additional options thereafter.

Commencement of the AHTS contracts will be during Q2 and Q3 2022 in the North Sea, the US Gulf of Mexico, and West Africa.

Seajacks UK vessel wins North Sea commissioning work

Seajacks UK Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eneti, has signed a new contract with a UK-based utility company for one of its vessels to support offshore wind farm substation commissioning in the UK sector of the North Sea.

The charter covers a period of 90 to 120 days in each of 2023, 2024, and 2025.

U-Ming Marine Offshore reflags crewboats for offshore wind contracts in Taiwan

U-Ming Marine Offshore (UMO), a joint venture between Taiwan’s U-Ming Marine Transport Corporation and Denmark-based World Marine Offshore, has acquired two high-efficiency, wave-resistant secondhand crewboats and completed their reflagging.

The trimaran SWATH vessels UMO Mistral and UMO Scirocco as well as two additional crewboats under construction have secured contracts in the Taiwan offshore wind market. The final two crewboats are scheduled to be delivered in the second half of 2022.

N-Sea awards long-term charter for Braveheart Marine survey/IMR vessel

Netherlands-based offshore services provider the N-Sea Group has entered into an agreement with Braveheart Marine for the long-term charter the Dutch-flagged DP2 vessel Braveheart Spirit, a modern offshore survey/IMR vessel.

The 2010-built vessel was acquired late last year by Braveheart Marine and converted and upgraded to meet current industry standards.

The vessel is ideal for operations in the southern and central North Sea. Duties will include towing, geotechnical and UXO surveys, cable repair support, and walk-to-work support.

SeaMar DP2 vessel tapped for two-year support contract

Dutch operator SeaMar has entered into a continuous contract with an existing client for the charter of the DP2 multi-purpose vessel Deep Helder. The contract has a duration of two years firm with two one-year options.
The new contract will commence on January 1, 2023. Deep Helder will be used for deployment of inspection, survey, and construction equipment on various projects across Europe and the Americas.
