A massive survey project has been completed by a UK oil and gas company in Southeast Asia while new projects in the pipeline include well intervention, IRM, and decommissioning work for subsea clients in the Americas and Western Europe.
Pharos Energy completes 3D seismic survey offshore Vietnam
UK-based oil and gas exploration company Pharos Energy has completed its 3D seismic program on the western part of Block 125 in the Phu Khanh Basin offshore Vietnam.
Pharos said the survey covered some 909 square kilometres over an area that is geologically analogous to most of the prolific hydrocarbon producing basins of Southeast Asia. The company said it will use the collected data to attract an investment partner for any subsequent drilling phase.
The survey was performed by SW Vespucci, a vessel belonging to the Shearwater GeoServices fleet.
Magseis Fairfield secures multi-client OBN contract in North Sea
Magseis Fairfield has been awarded an ocean bottom node (OBN) survey in the North Sea for a multi-client company. The duration of the survey is approximately two months and will start in Q3 2021.
Magseis said the work will be for a repeat customer.
C-Innovation awarded RLWI work in Gulf of Mexico
Edison Chouest Offshore affiliate company C-Innovation has been selected to perform riserless light well intervention (RLWI) work for an unnamed client in the Gulf of Mexico.
C-Innovation will utilise the DP3-equipped vessel Island Venture for the contract scope, which will cover eight to ten wells per year, including wireline and stimulations.
The company has been providing related services with the same client for the last two years.
Petrobras taps Fugro for IRM support
Petrobras has awarded Fugro a three-year contract for subsea inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) services in Brazil.
The contract is set to begin in Q4 2021 and will be accomplished from the DP-equipped vessel Fugro Aquarius using two Fugro-built 3,000-metre work-class remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
The award follows the successful completion of a previous four-year contract for similar services aboard the same IRM vessel, which Fugro said was designed primarily for the Brazilian market.
KDS JV bags subsea decommissioning contract off Norway
KDS JV, the joint venture between DOF Subsea and Aker Solutions, has secured a subsea decommissioning contract on behalf of DNO on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The contract includes engineering, preparation, removal, and disposal (EPRD) of associated subsea hardware. The project scope includes the removal and disposal of subsea infrastructure including template, manifold, production spools, umbilical, covers, and associated hardware.
DOF Subsea will deploy Skandi Acergy from its fleet, and Aker Solutions will use its disposal site at Stord for recycling.
DOF said the offshore execution is planned in Q1 2022 but with a possibility for an earlier start in Q4 2021.
