Scandinavia’s largest offshore wind farm goes online

Vattenfall held a ceremonial inauguration to mark the official start of operations of the Horns Rev 3 wind farm offshore Denmark on Thursday, August 22.

Consisting of 49 wind turbines situated 25 to 40 kilometres off Denmark’s west coast in the North Sea, the Horns Rev 3 development is the largest offshore wind farm in Scandinavia.

The wind farm is expected to increase Danish power production from wind by around 12 per cent as well as provide enough power for up to 425,000 households every year.
