Ultra Deep Solutions orders well intervention vessel

Singapore’s Ultra Deep Solutions has signed a letter of intent to build a SALT 310 well intervention vessel with China Merchants Heavy Industry.

The 162-metre by 32-metre vessel will be capable of well intervention, flex lay and rigid pipe lay in 3,000-metre water depths.

Chief executive Shel Hutton said the three-in-one tower designed by Huisman was the first of its kind built. The Huisman main crane, which is rated at 600 tonnes to 1,000 tonnes to work at depths of 3,000 metres, will come with DP3 and 28,000KW of power.

In addition, there are two 186KW workclass remotely operated vehicles (WROVs) built into hangars and two hydrogen refineries with 650MSW hydrogen saturation system.
