Transocean secures several rig contracts

Transocean has issued its quarterly Fleet Status Report, revealing and additional US$405 million in contract backlog since its last report.

The ultra-deepwater semi-submersible Development Driller III was awarded a 180-day contract offshore Equatorial Guinea. Following maintenance, reactivation and a contract preparation period, the floater is expected to commence operations in the first quarter of 2019.

Other contracts included an 11-well contract plus four one-well options offshore Australia for GSF Development Driller I, a three-well contract plus six one-well options in offshore Norway for Transocean Spitsbergen and a 13-well contract plus a one-well option for Transocean 712 in the UK North Sea.
