MMA Offshore sells supply vessel to Fortescue Future Industries

Australian vessel operator MMA Offshore has completed sale of the platform supply vessel (PSV) MMA Leveque to a subsidiary of Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) for a consideration of US$7.75 million.

FFI plans to convert the PSV to accommodate a dual-fuel propulsion system. The objective of the conversion is to enable the vessel to operate almost totally on green ammonia.

MMA Leveque will then join FFI’s prototype trucks, locomotives, drill rig, and other mobile equipment that are currently being trialled to operate on green fuels.
