New Orleans-based Jackson Offshore Operators (JOO) has completed the acquisition of a platform supply vessel originally built in 2015.

The 260-foot (79-metre) vessel will operate under the name Storm once it has completed regulatory requirements including a special dry-docking survey. Its initial deployment under JOO will be in support of an oil operator in the Gulf of Mexico.

The PSV is DP2-capable and is powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system.

Storm was brought to Bollinger Shipyards earlier this year to be refurbished. The refit included the installation of new Z-drive azimuth thrusters.
