Harvey Gulf takes delivery of fifth dual-fuel OSV

Harvey Gulf International Marine has accepted delivery of its fifth LNG-powered offshore supply vessel (OSV), Harvey America.

Built at Gulf Coast Shipyard Group in Mississippi, the 94.4-metre by 19.5-metre vessel Harvey America can carry 950,000 litres of fuel oil, 18,000 barrels of liquid mud, 1,600 barrels of methanol, 290 cubic metres of dry cement and 295,000 litres of LNG fuel.

Certified by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), the vessel is a collaboration between Hervey Gulf, ABS and the US Coast Guard to develop environmentally-friendly OSVs for use in the Gulf of Mexico.

A sixth dual-fuel OSV was ordered in June.
