Vard Braila in Romania has launched the first of two new commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) ordered by Norwegian operator Rem Offshore.

Once completed, Rem Power will have a length of 85 metres, a beam of 19.5 metres, a height-adjustable motion-compensated gangway with elevator system, a height-adjustable boat landing system, and a 3D-compensated electrical crane. Accommodation will also be available for 120 people.

The CSOV’s hull will later be transported to Vard Søviknes in Norway for completion.
