LDA’s newest windfarm maintenance vessel hits the water

NAVAL ARCHITECTURE WEEK

A new windfarm maintenance vessel ordered by Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) was recently floated out at Cemre Shipyard in Turkey.

Classed by Bureau Veritas and designed by Salt Ship Design, the 83-metre, hybrid-powered Wind of Hope will operate under a long-term charter with Ørsted following its delivery. It is a sister vessel to Wind of Change, which was delivered by Cemre to LDA in 2019.

Wind of Hope‘s initial operations will be in support of Ørsted’s offshore wind farms in UK waters.
