Turkey’s Cemre Shipyard has launched a new wind farm service vessel ordered by DEME Group.

Groene Wind, which utilises a small waterplane area twin hull (SWATH) design, is the first wind farm service vessel to be built for DEME as well as one of the world’s first DP2 twin-hulled wind farm service vessels.

The 60-metre vessel is due for delivery in 2021 and will be directly chartered to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for the maintenance of the Rentel and SeaMade offshore wind farms in Belgium.
