Acta Marine secures two-year charter for Bard Offshore 1 wind farm

The under-construction DP2 service operation vessel (SOV) Acta Auriga has secured a two-year charter for Ocean Breeze Energy (OBE) at its 400MW offshore wind farm Bard Offshore 1.

Undergoing outfitting and commissioning activities at Ulsteinvik at Ulstein Verft, Acta Auriga will perform logistical support for OBE’s maintenance activities once she’s delivered at the end of March.

Acta Auriga’s walk-to-work gangway system and 3D compensated crane are designed to cope with the challenging weather and sea conditions in the German Bight of the North Sea, where OBE’s 59-square-kilometre windfarm is located 100 kilometres offshore.

Reaching a top speed of 13 knots, the 93.4-metre by 18-metre, 3,200GT vessel will operate out of Emden.

Equipped with X-bow and X-stern hull lines, Acta Auriga has an SMST motion-compensated gangway with integrated lift and crane functionality.

Featuring a 500-square-metre deck area, the Acta Marine vessel is equipped with covered warehousing facilities, integrated people and cargo logistics, and stepless approach to the offshore installations.

In total 120 people can stay onboard in its 80 cabins for offshore stays of 30 days.
