Orkney engineering firm takes delivery of multi-purpose workboat

Orkney-based Leask Marine has taken delivery of a new multi-purpose workboat from Damen Shipyards Group.

C-Force is the second Damen vessel to join the Leask Marine fleet. Since the vessel was available in stock, delivery took place within six weeks of contract signing.

The vessel will be used on a variety of marine engineering-related tasks including anchor handling, dive support, and cable-laying assistance.

C-Force has a length of 27.27 metres, a beam of 12.5 metres, and a total installed power of 1,790 kW delivering a bollard pull of 34.8 tonnes and a maximum speed of 10.5 knots. The wheelhouse was custom-designed to provide space for desks and computers to allow Leask Marine’s clients to work on board during operations.

Deck equipment includes a four-point mooring system with winches.
