Seacor takes delivery of new FSV from Gulf Craft

Seacor Marine Holdings has unveiled the first of a new fleet of fast support vessels (FSV).

Built by Gulf Craft in Louisiana and designed by Australian firm Incat Crowther, Ava J McCall is the first and only monohull in the industry equipped with a “pod” seating configuration, Seacor said.

The 10,000kW propulsion system allows the vessel to achieve a maximum speed of 38 knots.

Ava J McCall was built with an ABS Class 2 Kongsberg dynamic positioning system, and its Seacor said its eight thrusters provide excellent station keeping and system redundancy.

The cabin is designed to resemble first-class airline seats. Featuring 56 wide seats that incline 60 degrees within the pod, the vessel also includes folding tray tables, reading lights and foot rests.

Other amenities include USB power for charging personal devices, wi-fi access, satellite TV and low-tone LED lighting.

The passenger area is also equipped with a galley, coffee and snack bar and a 12-seat conference table.

Passenger comfort is enhanced by a stabiliser and ride control system that reduces the motion of the vessel.
